Method and Home Gateway device (HG) for traffic allocation over a mobile network (PLMN) and a fix DSL network (PDN). Initially, only the DSL connection (11) is established. When the load of the fixed connection is very high, then mobile network is also used simultaneously. When both networks are used, they are providing different IP addresses (IP1, IP2). At every transport session opened, there is an assessment of the best network to be used. Quality measurements are taken in the fix connection as well as the mobile connection to decide with path to allocate the traffic. The mobile connection (10) is used once some quality parameters are evaluated in the both networks trying to maximise the use of the fixed line and not affect the mobile customers of the network.
