The present invention relates to a photocatalytic device for a motor vehicle exhaust pipe, which eliminates contaminants contained in the exhaust gases, including NOx, VOCs and carbon particles, produced during combustion in the engine. The photocatalytic device comprises a preferably helical support designed to minimise charge loss and on the surface of which the photocatalyst, which can be TiO2-based, for example, is disposed, providing the maximum surface for the passage of the exhaust gases, the support having incorporated therein an LED lamp of which the peak wavelength emission is adjusted to maximise the efficiency of the photocatalyst. |
