Examples prepare formaldehyde from 1,2-ethanediol, acetaldehyde from 2,3-butanediol, glyoxylic acid from tartaric acid, p-benzoquinone from p - hydrobenzoquinone and glycol aldehyde from vinyl ethyl ether. Reference is also made to the production of butyraldehyde from octene-4, cyanacetaldehyde from 1,4- dicyano-2-butene and acetone from 2,3-dimethyl-2-butene. |
