<p>Cpds. of formula (I): (where X and Y are halogen; R1 is H, 2-4C hydroxyalkyl, furfuryl or thenyl; E and R2 are H, 1-18C aliphatic acyl, 2-5C aliphatic acyl substd. by OR3; 1-5C aliphatic acyl substd. by COOR4 or 1-2C acyl substd. by 3-6C cycloalkyl, and E can also be 2-5C mono- or dialkylcarbamoyl or benzoyl opt. substd. by Cl, Br, Me, OMe or NO2; R3 is Me or Et; R4 is H or 1-4C alkyl; provided that (a) R2 is H when R1 is not H and (b) E and R2 contain 21C atoms), and the salts of (I) where R2 is acyl when E is acyl or substd. carbamoyl with bases, are used to control mites at the place to be protected. They are esp. useful for mite control on apple trees, cotton plants, bean plants, peach trees, young or hot-bed plants, citrus fruit cultures and ornamental plants, esp. rose bushes.</p> |
