<p>The exothermic reaction is used in self-heating aerosol windscreen-defrosting compsns. and for warming up diesel oil for injection into diesel engines in cold weather. In the aerosols, the hydrazine is contained in the compartment of a "pocket valve" in the container, the oxidising agent being mixed with propellant in the body of the container. The prefd. oxidising agent is an aldehyde/ketone mixt. in alcoholic soln. The pH of the reaction mixt. is ca 7.</p> |
