1332821 Variable speed gears KLOCKNERHUMBOLDT-DEUTZ AG 9 Oct 1970 [9 Oct 1969]. 48089/70 Heading F2D A variable speed gear (e.g. toothed for a tractor) comprises a main gear 19 and auxiliary gear 13 in series, the ratio interval of the auxiliary gear being smaller than that of the main gear and is controlled so that when the ratio of the main gear is changed, if the auxiliary gear is in (of one) its higher ratio, the auxilary gear is changed down. Both gears 13 and 19 may be manually controlled at 39 and 69 (or by a single lever 13 along which can slide a sleeve (76) Fig. 2, not shown). The gear 19 may have two clutches 15, 17 or brakes or a clutch and a brake controlled hydraulically by a solenoid valve 44 switched at 54 by the lever 69. The latter may be moved to change down either by actuation of a clutch 3 when the main gear 19 changes ratio, or by a gate plate (84) being grooved to cam the sleeve (76) The drive may have additionally a reverse gear 25 slid into mesh between gears 20, 21. |
