1332026 Increasing aircraft lift BRITISH AIRCRAFT CORP Ltd 2 Aug 1972 [7 Aug 1971] 37207/71 Heading F2R An aircraft has a wing system including a wing 2 of slender delta planform, means for discharging a gaseous jet sheet 11 into a region forward of the aerodynamic centre 20 so that lift is increased, and lift-increasing srufaces 19 aft of the aerodynamic centre for balancing such increases in lift. A forward part of the wing system, either a separate fore-wing 4, or a part of the delta wing, Fig. 3 (not shown), generates vortices which are shed over the wing, and it is into these vortices that the jet sheet is discharged. The jet sheet may be supplied from power plant 10 or from a separate gas generator, and is given a rearward bias by vanes 12. There may be a further jet sheet 17 discharged aft and outward of the jet sheet 11 from apertures 15.
