1429656 Portable containers ROUSSEL UCLAF 18 June 1973 [19 June 1972] 28871/73 Heading B8D A device for mixing separately stored substances, e.g. pharmaceutical, food, or cosmetic products, comprises a first bottle 1 having a neck 4 sealed by a displaceable solid stopper 13 of non-elastically or elastically deformable material, and a second bottle 6 having a neck 10 mounting a cannular 11 adapted to displace the plug when the necks are connected. In a modification, Fig. 4 (not shown), the neck 10 is sufficiently long in itself to displace the stopper and the cannula is omitted. As shown, the neck 4 is provided with a threaded ferrule 5 for receiving the threaded neck 10. Alternatively, the threads may be dispensed with and other machined surfaces provided. The bottles may be of glass, metal or rigid or flexible plastics, such as P.T.F.E., P.V.C., polyethylene or polypropylene. The ferrule may be of P.T.F.E., P.V.C., polyethylene or polypropylene. The stopper may be of P.T.F.E., polypropylene, polyethylene or synthetic rubber. As shown, the contents of bottle 6 are transferred to bottle 1 and the mix returned thereto by flexing the walls of bottle 6. The containers may be provided with caps during storage to ensure their hermetic sealing and sterility. |
