Electrically insulated screwdriver - with a steel tip on plastic handle and shaft

The handle and shaft are an integral injection moulding of an electrically insulating material and the tip for engaging the screw is made of a stiff metal plate projecting for a short distance from the end of the shaft. PRef. the metal tip is a T-shaped insert with a head similar in width to the end of the moulded shaft and the narrow support anchored in the moulding with the aid of holes through which the melt can flow. Pref. moulded of polyamide (polydiaminodiacid type) reinforced with glass fibres. Safer than screwdrivers with a metal core which could be exposed if the insulating sheathing is damaged.
