<p>A knitted fabric includes a pattern yarn (e.g. polyacrylic polyamide, polyester) superimposed on a pile yarn (e.g. polyamide, polyacrylic, asbestos, PTFE, glass fibre, flax, wool, cotton) and tied into the knitted fabric by a reinforcing yarn (e.g. polyester, polyamide) which pres. extends transversely of the pattern and pile yarns. The surface at which the pile yarn is exposed is subsequently brushed by e.g. a brush roller having e.g. natural or metallic tufts to form the pile yarn into a short pile. The fabric is used esp. for covering walls and has good heat and sound insulating properties. It can be applied directly to the wall.</p> |
