Ketoximes are formula (I): (where Y is -C=NOH; the oxime gp. is in the anti configuration w.r.t the OH gp.; X is H, halogen, or an electron-accetor gp.; R1 and R2 are H or opt. substd. alk(en)yl, cycloalkyl, alk(en)oxy or aryloxy gp.). (I) are used for extraction of metal values from aq. solns., in conjunction with a water-immiscible organic solvent. Mixts. of oximes of this type differing in the X or R1 substits. and mixts. with ketoximes differing in that the oxime gp. has the syn-configuration are also specified. Prepn. involes reaction of a ketone of formula (I) (in which Y is =CO) with NH2OH. |
