The window frame profile has a flat step on which rest the edges of the double glazing panels. Flexible sealing profiles are arranged on the outside and on the inside panels. The window glazing assembly is clamped into a position by a separate profile 2. This profile exerts lateral pressure on the sealing profiles 4. These sealing profiles are held in a channel formed by ribs on the main frame 1 and the clamping rail itself. The clamping rail is clamped in position by a longitudinally split tubular spring 12. This spring is clamped between the glazing panel clamping profile and the short clamping profile which is screwed on the main profile. A lateral fixing screw 11 holds the spring element in position. The spring element compensates for tolerances of the profiles used for making the window frame. The clamping forces exerted are specifically within the range 2-3 kg/cm2.
