<p>The toggle clamping lock is used for clamping of flat steel packing straps for rolls. The clamping mechanism in Fig. 1 has a long and slender flat base plate with folded side plates. The side members have holes for transverse pin for the clamping lever 9. This lever has channel shaped cross section for stiffening. The transverse pin holds the lever on the mounting plate 1. The clamping lever is connected by means of a further transverse pin 13 with the connecting bracket whose folded sides enclose the handle support member. The second transverse pin is connected to the channel shaped section which is crimped on one end 16 of the packing strap. A guide slot is provided for the clamping handle which is locked by pushing a transverse locking member through the slot. This lock can be joined on straps of different widths and its manufacturing tolerances can be large.</p> |
