Plate with receptacle for food scraps - hollow rim around part of all of circumference is used for separated unwanted food

A plate with a receptacle for food scraps, such as bones or skin. This avoids the problem of keeping separated wanted food and unwanted waste. The plate (1) is of a standard type, being round or elliptical. Around part, or all, of its circumference is a hollow rim (2) which forms the receptacle. This hollow rim replaces the normal flat lip of the standard plate. The hollow rim is integrally moulded with the rest of the plate. If the rim extends around only part of the plate there is preferably a similar part-rim on the diametrically opposite side of the plate to prevent instability.
