<p>The circuit has an input stage (1) receiving the low frequency signals X and Y, representing the components V cos phi and V sin phi of a vector V with phase phi, and the input stage modulates and frequency transpose these signals via a signal of frequency W/2 provided by a reference oscillator (2). The signals are then supplied to a summator (7) whose output (A) has a fundamental frequency component V sin (wt + phi) supplied to a phase-locked loop circuit (3) for quantifying the phase angle of this signal (A) and providing an output, representing the polarity of the latter, which is supplied to a phase measuring circuit (4). This is connected to the reference oscillator (2), the vector argument being given by a trigonometric equation in terms of X and Y.</p> |
