1411530 (Organosulphinylmethyl)trialkyltin compounds PROCTER & GAMBLE CO 7 March 1974 [8 March 1973] 10250/74 Heading C2J Compounds of the general formula wherein R is C 1-14 alkyl or is aryl optionally substituted by C 1-4 alkyl, C 1-4 alkoxy, halogen or nitro and R<SP>1</SP> is C 1-10 alkyl, are prepared by reacting R-S(O)-CH 3 with (R<SP>1</SP> 3 Sn) x NR<SP>11</SP> 3-x , where R<SP>11</SP> is -H, C 1-6 alkyl or cycloalkyl, at 25-125‹ C. and optionally in the presence of a hydrocarbon, petroleum ether or glyme solvent. In the examples, the compounds (methyl- and phenyl-sulphinylmethyl) tributyltin are prepared. The compounds have pesticidal properties and may particularly be incorporated into compositions comprising 0.5-70% by weight of active compound, 0.1-30% of emulsifier and 29.9-99.4% of organic solvent. Exemplified pesticidal compositions comprise the above-specified tributyltin compounds together with sorbitan trioleate, polyoxyethylene sorbitan monooleate or a nonylphenolethylene oxide condensation product as emulsifier and acetone or xylene as solvent. |
