In a liquid aerator with a centrifugal pump having an axial suction impeller and a Venturi-type constriction at the inlet, a series of small feed tubes for air or other gases project into the constriction, the ends of these tubes pref. being installed in different but superimposed planes. Permits much larger amounts of air or other gases to be dispersed in a liquid, partic. for aerobic fermentation e.g. with yeasts, moulds and bacteria.
