1386782 Woodwool building slab TORVALE HOLDINGS Ltd 16 March 1972 [18 March 1971] 7154/71 Heading B5L [Also in Division E1] A woodwool building slab for covering an opening in a space frame structure is rectangular and has along each edge of one face 11 a rebate 12. The rebates 12 are adapted to receive portions of elongate members of the space frame, and further rebates 13 are provided to receive gussets at the intersections of the elongate members. The slabs may be for walls or roofing. The block is preferably made by compressing woodwool and a bonding agent, such as cement or resin, in a mould and covering the surface thereof opposite to the surface 11 with a cementitious or bituminous material. Recesses 14 may be provided adjacent the edges of the slab for receiving bridge plates which connect adjacent slabs when these are located on a space frame. The bridge plates may be secured to the slabs and possibly the frame by adhesive or nuts and bolts.
