摘要 1387061 Crystalline homopolymers B F GOODRICH CO 8 March 1972 [8 March 1971] 10752/72 Heading 3CP Crystalline homopolymers are prepared from monomeric olefins containing one double bond and from 5 to 12 carbon atoms or containing more than one double bond and from 4 to 12 carbon atoms by forming a liquid polymerization reaction medium comprising (1) a stereodirective Ziegler catalyst, (2) the liquid monoolefin which is a non-solvent for the desired crystalline homopolymer and (3) nucleating solid particles insoluble in the olefin, polymerizing the olefin in the absence of moisture, oxygen and solvent at a temperature from - 25‹ to 150‹ C. selected so as to be below the crystalline melting point of the desired crystalline homopolymer and below the decomposition temperature of the catalyst while subjecting the reaction mixture to a gentle continuous tumbling agitation employing a minimum of shearing forces on the reaction medium and wherein the polymer particles move randomly and gently with respect to each other and to the monomer in which they are suspended, the polymerization being continued for a time sufficient to convert the liquid monomeric olefin to the desired crystalline homopolymer in the form of substantially dry particles and recovering the dry particles. The nucleation particles may be particles of solid carrier for one of the catalyst components. In the examples butadiene, isoprene and 3 methylbutene-1 are polymerized using a mixture of VCl 3 on TiO 2 , TiCl 4 and tri-n-propyl aluminium; isoprene is polymerized using a mixture of VCl 3 on TiO 2 , tetraisopropyl titanate and triisobutyl aluminium or a mixture of VCl 3 with di-nbutyl ether and tri-n-propyl aluminium; and 2,3-dimethyl butadiene-1,3 is polymerized using TiCl 4 and tri-n-butyl aluminium.
