<p>The system is for use after exchange of a spool, partic in a spindleless fine spinning machine. The yarn sucked into the discharge passage is diverted from a straight path into a curve, and then pulled tight against a cutting edge to sever it. A cutter blade can be mounted in the passage, masking part of its cross-section, typically in the curved portion. It can be stationary, rotary and of circular shape, or in the form of a pair of toothed strips, one of which is driven to and fro in a straight line, and a roughened surface can be provided downstream of the blade. The latter can be mounted in an elastic sleeve pulled over the discharge passage, and its edge can be inclined to the passage axis.</p> |
