<p>Benzopyran derivs. of formula (I) and their pharmaceutically acceptable derivs. and of formula (III) are new: (where X = 3-7C alkylene opt. substd. by an OH gp.; R1, R2, R3 and R4 = H or a pair of R1 and R3 or R2 and R4 form a C-C bond and the others are H). (I) inhibit the release and/or action of mediators released by the in vivo reaction of certain types of antibodies (e.g., reaginic antibodies) with specific antigens. They may thus be used to treat allergic or intrinsic asthma, hay fever, trachoma, urticaria or gastrointestinal allergies e.g., milk allergy in children. (III) are inters. for (I).</p> |
