Combustible gases, esp. for gas turbines, are produced by (a) subjecting the liq. hydrocarbon (esp. boiling in the naphtha range), opt. in the presence of steam, to partial combustion with a gas with a low O2 content (e.g. air) at a manometric press. of 2.1-207 (pref. 13.8-34.4) bar and an autogenic temp. of 871-1649 degrees C to produce an effluent gas contg. N2, Co and H2; (B) injecting a liq. hydrocarbon and steam into the effluent gas at the same pressure as in (a), to cool the effluent gas and heat the steam/hydrocarbon mixt to 538-982 degrees C, so that at least part of the hydrocarbon is converted into CH4; (c) cooling the prod. to condense H2O; and (d) recovering a prod. consisting of CO, N2, H2 and CH4. Prods. with a calorific value of 1.33-8.89 kcal/1 can be obtd.
|
