The railway wagon is of unit construction type and it consists of a lowr section, of chassis (I) and a superstructure (S). The chassis consists of the shock absorbing panels (CI) (C2) which rest on bogies, or other wheel suspension devices (R1) (R2). These shock absorbing panels are joined by a longitudinal member (L) which is in the form of a simple beam. The longitudinal beam (L) is fixed rigidly to one of the shock absorbing panels (C2) and is suspended at the transverse pivot of the other shcok absorbing panel (C1). The actual suspension can take several forms.
