PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To clean document tables only at selected timing.SOLUTION: An image reader 10 comprises: a first document table 11; a light source unit 13; a cleaning unit 70; a displacement mechanism unit 80; a temperature sensor 91; a humidity sensor 92; and a control unit 90. The light source 13 is configured to move a low part of the first document table 11 in a sub-scan direction, and the cleaning unit 70 has a cleaning member 72, and is mounted to the light source unit 13. The displacement mechanism unit 80 is configured to displace the cleaning unit 70 between a contact position and a spaced-apart position. The control unit 90 is configured to arrange the cleaning unit 70 at the contact position only when it is determined that cleaning is required on the basis of a detection result of the temperature sensor 91 and humidity sensor 92.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3 |
