Mobile railway-line laying-machine - with rigid section and at least two pairs of rollers pressing on either side of rail-web

The laying machine places the rails in their ultimate, geometric position. Each roller has an outer cylindrical surface which can be brought against the rail-web and pivots on a roughly vertical axis. Each pair of rollers is mounted on an attachment rigidly fixed to the rigid chassis section. Each attachment has two supports pressing the outer surfaces of each roller-pair against the rail-web. Each attac hment has two jaws at the end of which is fixed a roller. The outer surface of each roller also touches the underneath surface of the rail head. The attachments can be moved vertically and the horizontal distance between them adjusted by means of slide-pieces attached to the chassis, and through which pass a first and second glide-rail to join on to the roller-attachments.
