Development machine for photographic negatives - uses mixture of ammonia gas and water vapour

The ammonia gas and water vapour mixture are delivered to a development chamber (1), with the opening for the condensation exit conduit (7) at the opposite side of the chamber (1) to the vapour input conduit (11). The exit conduit (7) is directly connected to a supplementary vaporiser (15), connected via a further vapour conduit to the development chamber (1). Pref. the main vaporiser (10) is connected directly to the supplementary vaporiser (15) which is much smaller than the main vaporiser. The ammonia supply conduit (12) incorporates a magnetic pump (22) actuated intermittently in dependence on the speed with which the proof is fed through the machine.
