The lens is made from a solid copolymer compsn. of refractive index 1.35-1.50 consisting of 10-60 wt. pts. of a polysiloxanyl alkyl ester of formula: where X and Y are 1-5C alkyl, phenyl or a gp. of formula where A is 1-5C alkyl or phenyl, R is H or CH3, M is 1-5 and n is 1-3) and 90-40 wt. pts. of an ester of a 1-20C monohydric alcohol and acrylic or methacrylic acid.
