PURPOSE: To prevent over-discharging and overcharging of a battery even if an ascending road or a descending road continues based on the information from a car navigation device on a hybrid vehicle. CONSTITUTION: A central control part 110 of a generating system controller 100 receives the road information from a car navigation device 12, computes required running energy on the path from the present position to the destination, determines the generator output pattern based on the required running energy and the charging ability of the generator, computes the target generator output based on the generator output pattern and the charged state of a battery and computes the target throttle opening and the target field current quantity so that the actual generator outputs agrees with the target generator output. Then, the target throttle opening signal is outputted to a throttle-actuator-drive control part 160, and the target-field-current-quantity signal is outputted to a field- winding-current control part 150, respectively. Thus, the output of the generator is controlled, and the charged state of the battery is controlled within the specified control range. |
