<p>The arm has the transducer cartridge at one end and a cylinder at the other end, the arm supported in the rest position by a crutch fixed to the deck and by the pivot. The latter comprises a tube with a hole through it, and a tripod above the tube. The upper part of the tripod ends in a cone with a cylindrical bore through it, accommodating a steel pin which passes through the cylinder attached to the end of the arm, so that the arm pivots about the pin. The latter can slide within the bore and is fixed in a selected position by tightening a screw.</p> |
