PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a switchgear operation mechanism in which the time required for a latch lever, rotating while interlocked with a movable contact at the time of cutoff operation, to start rotation can be shortened.SOLUTION: A holding device 1a of a switchgear operation mechanism has a latch 34 engaging with a latch lever 12 when the switchgear operation mechanism has a latch 34 is at a makeup angular position, and a trigger lever 31 configured rotatably about the trigger lever central axis of rotation 31b, and having a trigger lever 31 engaging with the latch 34 when the latch lever 12 is at the makeup angular position.
