<p>A method of making marble slabs from a set of smaller pieces, includes cutting a set of rectangular pieces all of the same size, placing them side by side, and adding a further piece across them, whose length equals the combined width of the rest of the set, then fixing them together with adhesive, this enabling smaller pieces to be used up. This is carried out by cutting the pieces at a cutting station, placing them onto a conveyor for delivery to an adhesive coating station, where after coating, they are assembled in a moulding tray and placed on another part of the conveyor, to pass through a drying chamber. They are then removed and stacked, prior to passing to a polishing unit while the empty moulds are returned to the filling position.</p> |
