The measuring diaphragm has a pedestal whose lower limit acts as a bearing surface in the pipe. A plate carrying the measuring mark is fastened to a pin mounted so as to move vertically in the pedestal. The free end of the pin is constructed as a sensor for the floor of the pipe. The pedestal can have a U-shaped cross section and a guide element for the pin can be fastened to the inside of the yoke part of the pedestal. The free end of the pin can have screwed to it a knob-shaped sensor. The pin can be so pushed into the guide element that the sensor lies on the outside of the yoke part.
