The control system for the gas burners achieves two regulating ranges by extinguishing one or the other of the two gas burners. This gas thermostat can be used for example, for a gas oven for roasting and for maintaining the temp. at lower level for keeping the food warm or for thawing up frozen foods before roasting. The gas flow is interrupted by the distributor valve after the gas flow has passed through the regulating system. The regulating element is a sensor which influences the movements of the regulating valve spindle. The sensing element acts on a spindle which carries regulating valves for both adjusting ranges. The gas flows through the channel which is connected to the safety valve and the gas passes through the sensing element chamber and through the valve. The gas is distributed by the tapered distributing element into two separate burners.
