Closure for letter envelopes or dispatch pockets for manual or machine sealing includes a flap and a gumming for self adhesive or adhesion or wet attachment of the flap. Within the closing flap (3) is positioned a line (7) which is parallel to folding line (4) and located some distance away from it. About the line (7) is folded from the closing flap (3) through an angle of 180 deg. a cover flap (6) provided on its inner surface (6') with adhesive or self adhesive coating (8). If required an additional wetting adhesive (10) is provided parallel with the coating (8). The cover flap (6) is covering over a second coating (9) applied on the back side of the dispatch pocket (2). In this position the coatings (8) and (9) are adjacent.
