Caprolactam laurolactam binary co-poly-amide as melt adhesive - for paper filter and metal housing of fuel filter

Binary copolyamides based on caprolactam/laurolactam are used as melt adhesives. The molar ratio of these components pref. is 60:40-30:70, esp. 50:50. The copolyamides 6/12 pref. are extracted with an alcohol, e.g. MeOH, or a halohydrocarbon, e.g. CH2Cl2. Used esp. for bonding paper filters and metal housings in fuel filters. These melt adhesives are residant towards fuels and give satisfactory adhesion to metals.
