Mass-produced necklace clasps with two simple parts - semi-resilient U-shaped locking bar engages in axially-slotted case lock

The necklace clasp comprises a lock housing formed by a sleeve (10) having a guide slot (14) along the plane of symmetry (a-a) for transferring the end links (11, 11') of the necklace from the end to the rear side of the sleeve (10) when the clasp is undone. A hooped locking bar (12) with two parallel arms (12") is mounted so that it can be axially displaced in the sleeve and can be locked and unlocked from it by a sliding movement when resiliently deforming the arms (12") of the bar in the direction towards the plane of symmetry. When the clasp is closed the free ends (12"') of the arms (12") of the bar (12) protrude out from the back of the sleeve where they can be pressed inwards by the thumb and forefinger in order to open the clasp.
