1431838 Stop motions in donning device with signal lamps ZINSER-TEXTILMASCHINEN GmbH 27 June 1973 [27 June 1972] 30620/73 Headings DID and DIF An automatic tube-changing device has a carrier 13 with an expanding tube gripper 15 and drive means to change the position of the gripper, a safety system responsive to changes in relative position between the carrier and tube gripper and/or tube 19 gripped by the gripper to control the drive means in the event of the tube encountering a resistance to its movement. Such relative movement is sensed by mounting the gripper on a resilient cushion 23 such that displacement of the gripper closes contact between a disc 24 on the gripper and on contact member 20 on the carrier. An alternative arrangement, Fig. 5 comprises rigidly mounting the gripper and providing a spring loaded member 24", which is displaced if the tube 19 is pushed upwards relative to the gripper, and co-operates with a contact 47. In a combination of these two embodiments, Fig. 3 (not shown) a radially divided disc can be bent into contact with a member 20, by displacement of the tube, in addition to its being movable as a unit with the gripper. Each gripper contact pair operates a common relay which disconnects or reverses the power source and also activates a signal lamp.
