Thin walled inner bearing race - has partial external rim for installation by eccentric clamp ring

The thin walled inner race (1) for a roller or ball bearing (2) is produced by a drawing and rolling operation. At one end of the race, an external rim (3) covering part of the circumference is attached by folding an integral lug through 180 deg. or by welding a separate piece to the race. The ends of this rim (3) are tapered so that this end of the bearing race fits into an eccentric clamp ring. An eccentric clamp ring is used to fasten the race to the shaft in order to avoid race deformation due to clamping forces.
