The end of the last delay line section is provided with a high frequency output, and there are at least two high frequency inputs which are connected to inputs of at least two delay line sections. Switching means apply high frequency energy to only one of the high frequency inputs, and d.c. voltage is switchable, so that the tube efficiency remains practically the same when the same high frequency power is applied to one of the inputs, and different output powers are collected from the high frequency output.
