Photo conducting element for use in electro photographic copying machine. It consists of an electrically conducting layer, a photo conducting layer, which contains photo conducting particles and a binding agent. There is also a transparent electrically insulating top layer with a thickness of between 10 and 30 microns. The photo conducting layer is dendritic hexagonal selenium dispersed in an epoxy resin. The proportion by weight of the two substances lies between 1:1 and 1:3. The thickness of the photo conducting layer lies between 15 and 45 microns. The transparent electrically insulating top layer consists of a material with a high wearing resistance and a high specific resistance.
