1430887 Loading/unloading station for pneumatic tube conveyer SPETSIAL KONSTRUKTOR BJURO TRANSNEFTEAVTOMATIKA 7 May 1974 [27 July 1973] 19980/74 Heading B8A A loading/unloading station for a pneumatic tube conveyer comprises a stationary cylindrical chamber 3 having an opening 4 closed from the inside by a cover 5 moved radially by a jack mounted on a pipe-line portion 6 which extends through the chamber and has an opening 7 which may be brought into registry with the opening 4 of the chamber by rotation of the pipe-line portion. Fig. 3 shows a cross-section of a loading station in loading position. The container is held in the required position by locating element 23 operated by actuator 24. When loading is complete, element 23 is disengaged and the pipe-line portion 6 is rotated through an angle less than 90 degrees in a clockwise direction by jack 9 until the opening 7 of the pipe-line portion is opposite the cover 8 and the cover 5 is opposite the opening 4 of the chamber. Jacks 20 and 16 then operate to bring the respective covers into closing and sealing position. The unloading station (Figs. 4, 5, not shown) is similarly constructed, with the container unloading through an opening in the bottom of the chamber. The pipe-line portion and container are rotated together, with the aid of an endless rope attached to pulleys and the wall of the pipe-line portion.
