1302639 Vinyl chloride polymers LONZA Ltd 14 July 1971 [15 July 1970 11 Dec 1970] 33076/71 Heading C3P Vinyl chloride polymers are prepared at 50-65‹ C. in emulsion in the presence of 2-10% of a polymer containing at least 50% by weight of 2-ethylhexyl acrylate having a mean particle diameter between maximum 310-(24 times concentration of acrylate polymer in per cent by weight based on vinyl chloride polymer) and minimum 33-(3.5 times such concentration). The acrylate polymer may be a copolymer but in the examples is a homopolymer. The polymers are formed sequentially. In the examples the mean particle sizes used are 25, 43, 74, 139 mÁ. |
