1455493 Sulphidic isomerisation catalyst U O P INC 15 Feb 1974 [16 Feb 1973] 6909/74 Heading B1E ([Also in Division C5] An isomerisation catalyst comprises sulphided nickel on a porous carrier which has been produced by (a) forming a composite of elemental nickel or nickel oxide on the carmier, (b) sulphiding to give a sulphided composite containing at least 0.9 moles of sulphur/mole nickel, and (c) stripping sulphur from the composite by means of a free hydrogen-containing gas to yield a catalyst containing between 0.55 and 0.9 moles/sulphur/mole nickel. Suitably, the catalyst comprises 5 to 80% at nickel and a support that is silica, e.g. kieselguhr, or alumina. The examples relate to kieselguhr on alumina supported catalysts.
|
