The present invention relates to a method for the continuous detection of impacts on a pipeline for the fluid transportation placed on the seabed, wherein two sensors (11, 12) are installed in correspondence with a same end of a section subject to detection of the length (x) of a pipeline (13), the method comprising detecting (110) the arrival of a first acoustic wave (14) propagating along a mantle of the pipeline (13) and generated by an impact (16) in said section subject to detection of the length (x) of the pipeline (13), through a first sensor (11), detecting (120) the arrival of a second acoustic wave (15) propagating along a transmission fluid of acoustic waves inside said pipeline (13) and generated by the impact (16) in said section subject to detection of the length (x) of the pipeline (13), through a second sensor (12), determining (130) the time difference (Δt) between the arrivals of said first and second acoustic waves (14, 15), localizing (140) the impact (16) by identifying its position along the pipeline (13) on the basis of said determined time difference (Δt). The second acoustic wave has different wave characteristics with respect to the first acoustic wave, and the localization item (140) of the impact (16) consists in calculating the distance (d) to the position of the impact (16) on the pipeline (13) from said first and second sensors according to the equation d=((v∙v)/Δv)∙Δt, wherein vand vare propagation rates of the acoustic waves along the mantle of the pipeline (13) and in the fluid inside said pipeline (13), and Δv is difference between said rates v, v. |
