发明名称 Olefin and polyalkoxyvinyl copolymers - prepd in two stages using ziegler catalyst
摘要 <p>Olefins of formula CH2 = CHR (I) (where R is H or =8 C alkyl), pref. propylene are copolymersised with 10%, pref. 5% by wt. based on olefins, cpds. of formula Z (CHR1 - CHR2 - O)x - CH = CH2 y (where R1 and R2 are H or an aliph. gp. eg. alkyl, x is 0-5, y is 1-4, Z is alkoxy if y is 1, O or bis-alkoxy if y is Z and apolyalkoxy having y alkoxy gps if y is > 2) the copolymsn being effected in two steps comprising (1) polymsg. the olefins on their own using a catalyst system consisting of a solid cpd. of a sub-gp. IVa, Va or VIa transition metal and co-catalyst which is an organometallic cpd. of gp II or III metal, and (2) polymerising (II) opt with (I) in presence of the catalyst system and the formed polymer from the first step. The process obviates prior art difficulties regarding the adverse effect of polyalkoxyvinyl cpds. on the activity of the catalysts. The novel copolymers have physical and mechanical properties similar to those of the polymers obtd, from the olefins but adhere better to metal coatings formed by galvanic process and to org. materials e.g. paints.</p>
