<p>1442080 Selective printing NIXDORF COMPUTER AG 26 July 1974 [30 Aug 1973] 33229/74 Heading B6F In a printer having a type head (e.g. needle printer, not shown) movable across a platen 24 and carried by guide 10, the platen 24 has a cutting edge 25 co-operating with a knife 30 mounted on a carrier 4 which is also movable along the guide 10. As shown the knife has a roller blade 30 and rubber rollers 40, 41. An electromagnetically operated latch, Fig. 4 (not shown), on the type head can engage the carrier 4 or that they move in tandem across the platen 24. The printer may provide, Fig. 3 (not shown) a rest position at one end of the guide 10 where the knife is held out of its operative position. When so located, a catch (58) on a handle (50) is disengaged so that the handle (50) can be moved to pivot frame (2a), 2b, 2c about rod 2d and so move the type head and knife 4 clear of the platen 24.</p> |
