1497190 Glass composition CARL-ZEISSSTIFTUNG [trading as JENAER GLASWERK SCHOTT & GEN] 18 Dec 1975 [20 Jan 1975] 51979/75 Heading C1M A glass having a softening point of 596-634‹ C. and a working temperature (viscosity 10<SP>4</SP> poises) of 792-863‹ C., is made from a melt consisting of, in per cent by weight: The glass may be fused to a magnetic alloy of substantially matching thermal expansion coefficient (e.g. 80À1-110À2 Î 10<SP>-7</SP>/‹ C.) in making reed switches. Magnetic alloys exemplified are: (i) 48À5% Fe, 48À5% Co, 3% V; (ii) 29À2% Fe, 55% Co, 11À8% Ni, 1% Al, 3% Ti; and (iii) 12% Fe, 3% Nb, up to 0À3% Ta, and balance (at least 84À7%) Co. |
