The first catalyst is effective to cure the gum at a first temperature. A suitable substrate, e.g. paper, metal or plastics, is coated with a coating comprising the gum and the two catalysts, and the layer at least partially cured, and a particulate image applied. The particulate image coacts with the second catalyst at a second temperature higher than the first temperature to degrade the cured silicone. After such degradation, either the particulate image or the particulate image and the degraded silicone is removed to expose ink-receptive areas corresponding to the image. The plate may be used without damping. The removal to expose ink-receptive areas may be achieved by use of a solvent. After the removal the plate may be baked. The particulate image may be applied electrophotographically. |
