IMPROVEMENTS RELATING TO SEALED DRY CELLS

The invention relates to the construction of dry batteries, particularly of the zinc-carbontype. The unit consists of a metallic receptacle of cylindrical form with a central electrode. The electrolyte is filled from above from a platform unit with a collar into a substantially annular space formed peripherally at the base of the receptacle. The top joint is sealed by a body made from a material which is substantially comparable with cam and the central electrode, and the joint is then completed by fusing or brazing. The top layer of the electrolyte is covered by a disc of cardboard or paper which is incorporated in the container.
