1459428 Boxes H EXEL [trading as RATIO PACK] 21 Dec 1973 [21 Dec 1972] 59358/73 Heading B8P In a fish box formed of impregnated corrugated cardboard, the base slopes downwardly from a central portion towards at least one side wall 2, that side wall being provided with drain holes 10 adjacent the box base. The box in Fig. 1 is erected from a blank which forms the base, two opposed side walls 2 and two lid flaps 8, the end walls 4 being formed by two separate blanks. The base is divided by creases into a central raised portion 16 and two sloping side portions, the slope of the side portions being determined by the configuration of the end walls 4. The walls 4 are of double thickness and their upper and lower edges are complementary to facilitate stacking. Also, projections 26 are adapted to engage slots 28 on an upper box. A tab 39, formed when each drain hole 10 is punched out of the box blank carries any fluid away from the side of a lower box. Ventilation holes 18, 20, 22 are provided, apertures 22 also serving as handholes when the flaps 8 are locked against the inner surfaces of the projections 26. In the embodiment of Fig. 6, the base is formed by two separate panels 104, hinged to the box side walls and serving as a closure for the box. The panels 104 are held in the illustrated sloping positions by end walls (114) which co-operate with downwardly extending flaps 106, (122) hinged to the free edges of the panels 104.
